Parking Expansion Coming to East River
Easier access to Castle Rock
Thanks to the management at the Maibec plant in East River for their willingness to offer a portion of their property that fronts along Highway 329 for the expansion of the existing trail parking area. Particularly since the Municipality took ownership of Castle Rock, the demand for parking in the area has out paced the available space.
We expect to accommodate up to 20 cars in the new space which will alleviate, and hopefully eliminate, the need for road side parking. New signage will also direct people to the entrance and exit driveways (one way). The goal will be to leave the large mature trees in the space to establish a park like setting of its own, and to retain a sound barrier to the neighbouring properties. An eco-toilet is also part of the future plans for the site.
